A house in Sweeden

You have probably seen images of this house all over the web already, especially since it is now for sale at Valvet Mäklarfirma, but I couldn't help myself!

The first image that called my attention was the little toilet at the entrance. The black and white scheme, the old doors, the old tiles (just like at my grandmother's) and the wire basket holding the toilet paper rolls (I'm going to copy that idea). In all honesty I got a bit confused, while looking at this house.
You can read Scandinavian in the predominance of white and in some details: like the art wall in the work place, the chairs in the atelier, the lamps, the pillows in the living room... But the rest is so eclectic, I even got a Portuguese feeling coming out of it . It moved me in such a way that I decided to make this post.
Then, as I was preparing it, I decided to "try" (because it's in Swedish) to read a bit of the house description, and there was something that I could actually understand: the tiles ARE Portuguese! I feel ashamed of my ignorance so I'll just hide for a few seconds and blush.

Anyway... hope you like it and you can see all the pictures here.

Scandinavian style - Tenka Gammelgaard's home

via Idha Lindhag
Today I'm making a "2 in 1" post. After posting here René Redzepi's home pictures, taken by Idha Lindhag, I continued to explore her portfolio and came across some pictures of a home I had seen spreading all over the "blogosphere". It is the home of Danish artist Tenka Gammelgaard (on tumblr) photographed for Casa Vogue. She expresses herself, in her home like in her art, in black and white, and that is a marvellous thing to see.

More or less at the same time, I got in my mailbox the 2012 catalogue from Louis Poulsen - "Louis Home". And, for my surprise, there it was Tenka's home again. Only this time it was featured as the perfect scenario for Louis Poulsen's lamps. They chose black and white examples of the most emblematic and wonderfully designed lamps they produce (like the AJ lamp, the PH artichoke, the PH 50, the Panthella and the Wohlert) and placed it in Tenka's home like they have always belonged there.

I thought it would be interesting to take a look at pictures from both sources.

Sunday softness

I start everyday with a morning ritual that includes a mug of strong coffee and a visit to Pinterest. And one of the things I love most, when looking at all the pins from people that I follow, is that you can sort of "connect the dots" and find an harmonious connection between pins from different people and different sources. I call it: the pin mood of the day. Today I woke up to a Sunday of soft images and tones of grey, beige and pink.
