Kitchen Crush | White on White

This kitchen is in a house in Milan but it could be Scandinavian. The family knocked down some walls to get a kitchen "allrum" (family room), a concept which is very popular up here in Scandinavia. Also very Scandinavian is the use of white, lots and lots of white, that grant a relaxed and bright atmosphere to the whole space. And notice the great mix of clean modern lines, furniture that looks a bit more traditional and an industrial touch with the Tolix chairs.

Yup, I definitely have a kitchen crush on this one!

| Spring on the Wall |

I've been wanting to show you these pictures for over a month now. Unfortunately, for the last three weeks I haven't been able to use my right arm (I'm still not supposed to, but I'm cheating a little bit...shhh!) because I managed to get a shoulder bursitis. Normally this would be fairly easy to fix, but because I'm pregnant I can't get proper medication, and all I can do is not move my arm and wait. I'm writing this post (slowly) with my left hand only, but I still need to be careful to avoid getting carpal syndrome and then not being able to move any of my arms...sigh.

I tell you, I've been bored out of my mind!

Anyway, this was me having a bit of fun with some sweet little flowers - snow drops - that normally mark the ending (or the beginning of the end) of winter. I just stepped outside, picked up a few and decided to stick them upside down (with little bits of adhesive mass), on an empty photo frame, and hang it on the wall.

A little bit of freshness and Spring indoors. I Hope you like the idea.

Gorgeous Apartment in Grey | Scandinavian style

Before going fully into Spring Mode, I want to share this beautifully styled apartment for sale on Stadshem. A typical scandinavian interior in tones of grey (and still quite bright) to put end another grey Winter.

I love the little concrete table in the living room.
And the kitchen is just perfect - fresh and yet cosy with the wooden utensils on display - I wouldn't change a thing!

Vacation | white paper boat

I'm going on vacation!
And it's about time... Autumn is actually hitting Denmark already!

We're going on a wonderful (hopefully) cruise in the Mediterranean so I won't be posting again until the middle of September. But I leave you with this origami boat which is a little taste of some DIY projects I've been planning for my blog when I'm back. See you all soon!

White Kitchen in the Netherlands

A peaceful, relaxed and white kitchen in a Home in Delft.
Love the fresh atmosphere and the bench under the window.

The wooden stool and the leather handles are designed by Nathalie and Tessa from Nu interieur|ontwerp, who were also responsible by the interior design of the entire home. For more images go here or here (the living room, all in white, grey and black, is also worth seeing).

TEA MUG | design crush

The Pell Mug by Nendo, for COS (Collection Of Style)...beautiful and practical.

I'm a bit of a "neat freak" (within reasonable limits, I think...) , so I obviously fell in love with the nice details for the spoon and for the tea bag!

Retro Kitchen Styling

Today I'm sharing this Kitchen style for Fantastic Frank in the most adorable retro way.

I'm loving the walls all covered in white subway tiles and white retro cabinets, and the graphism of the black and white floor tiles. Plus the plants and flours, which really had a feeling of Spring freshness to it.

all white apartment | SCANDINAVIAN STYLE

An amazing apartment in Sweden, styled by Fantastic Frank, ALL in white!
I know many peoplewill find it cold or sterile, but to me it's just perfect. I could live like that...surrounded by white. Especially in that fluffy and oh! so inviting white bed...

And how nice is that idea of turning the books with their spine to the back so all you can see are the white/nude pages?

Vintage Inspiration | Kitchen

I found the perfect Kitchen to start my day!

Bright, calm and white...everything is ready to prepare my coffee... then I'll hold my mug and sit at that vintage, cute little table, looking through the window and slowly awaking.

Christmas Inspiration Board

Maybe it's too soon to be thinking about Christmas decorations. But I like to start putting them up on the 1st of December, and I want to have a plan. Well not really a plan. Something like inspiration guidelines. That's why I started a Pinterest Board called | Christmas Inspiration | .

I'm going for some neutral tones and bits of green (a discrete green, and mostly with plants). Also, If I don't feel too lazy, I'd love to make some of the decorations myself. Last year I hanged my own Advent Calendar and some other black and white prints and I really liked the effect. So I've been collecting some more ideas for DIY's that I just may try this year. In paper, or yarn...simple things, nothing to tricky.

Even though I love Christmas - it's without a doubt my favourite time of the year - sometimes the whole thing can be a bit overwhelming. I think that decorating my home following these guidelines will help me keep some of it's usual tranquillity. Especially if it snows...cross my fingers and hope!

If you like the style, you can follow me on Pinterest and stay updated as I continue gathering ideas.

Cork and Marble Coasters

Last week I decided to paint my sofa table. It is a sorry, ugly, excuse of a table, but it's sturdy and I have no budget to replace it any time soon. So I decided to paint it all white (it was a disgusting yellowish wood colour) hoping that it would, somehow, 'dissolve' into it's surroundings. And it actually worked. It's still an ugly table but it annoys me a lot less now.

Of course, after going through all the trouble of painting it, I started thinking about something that I had no need to worry about before...coasters! (I swear I can hear my mother laughing right now)
So, yesterday, as I was roaming through the supermarket, I spotted these cheap cork coasters and decided to get them and then think of a way to customize them. Now, imagine my surprise, when this morning I see this marble coaster DIY on April and May blog. It's the same cork coasters and they used a marble adhesive foil to make it more interesting.
project and photos by April and May

And it doesn't have to be marble. This would work with any other type of adhesive, even wall paper. A few samples of a cool wall paper would be enough. Another idea, if I decide to keep the texture of the cork, is to paint it with a water resistant paint. The options are many and easily changeable, which is always good.

Hope you like this little DIY project. Have a nice day.

Photo Mood . white . shadow . freshness

The heat is getting the best of me.
Can't get any proper work done, my brain is a melted mush and I'm in dire need of cool and shadowy places to hide and do nothing. Come back rain...you're forgiven!

[ a gesture in black&white ] by Norm.Architects

A few photos of a townhouse in Copenhagen renovated by Norm.Architects

A home of contrasts.

A white background and open layout that make for a serene, pure and fluid refuge, in opposition to it's exterior body and surroundings. And an almost graphic gesture through the punctuation of the space with black details. I find it beautiful (if maybe not very liveable). What do you think?

Scandinavian Style - white and airy apartment in Sweden

Today, I'm loving this bright apartment in Sweden. A lot of white, punctuated with grey tones and green plants, make it feel very fresh and serene. And I'm crazy about some of the details, like that geometric lamp on the living-room window or the gorgeous door wall paper from Mr.Perswall. But above all - and maybe I'm just weird - I love the airy, uncluttered, general atmosphere of the apartment, that even with white floors seems to be very easy to clean.
