The Green Kitchen

Today I'm sharing this kitchen with it's fresh soft green tones.
The whole house is decorated in green tones, and you can see more of it here

But personally I'm loving the kitchen.
It feels fresh and perfect for a Spring mood.
The couple that lives here adapted an old work table by covering the top with white tiles, a beautiful and easy solution that adds lots of personality to the space. They also used the same tiles on the backsplash and counters top, tying it all together in a practical and cheap way.
And how gorgeous is the single open shelve with all those mason jars displaying the cooking ingredients?

[ moss-grown ]

While I was out enjoying one of the wonderful Spring days we had this month, I couldn't help but stop and take a few photographs of these beautiful mossy tones on a very weather-worn patio.

Christmas Inspiration Board

Maybe it's too soon to be thinking about Christmas decorations. But I like to start putting them up on the 1st of December, and I want to have a plan. Well not really a plan. Something like inspiration guidelines. That's why I started a Pinterest Board called | Christmas Inspiration | .

I'm going for some neutral tones and bits of green (a discrete green, and mostly with plants). Also, If I don't feel too lazy, I'd love to make some of the decorations myself. Last year I hanged my own Advent Calendar and some other black and white prints and I really liked the effect. So I've been collecting some more ideas for DIY's that I just may try this year. In paper, or yarn...simple things, nothing to tricky.

Even though I love Christmas - it's without a doubt my favourite time of the year - sometimes the whole thing can be a bit overwhelming. I think that decorating my home following these guidelines will help me keep some of it's usual tranquillity. Especially if it snows...cross my fingers and hope!

If you like the style, you can follow me on Pinterest and stay updated as I continue gathering ideas.

My Olive Green Kindle

After almost two weeks of "sweat and tears" (UPS was involved), my Kindle has finally arrived.
I'm in love with the olive green leather cover with it's little pop up light!

I'm in no way going to abandon real books, but this baby still has a lot of potential.
It's small and light enough to carry it with me everywhere, the battery lasts for weeks and it can storage hundreds of books. Happy!

'Writing Table' |by Roel Huisman|

Today I want to share this adorable desk by Amsterdam designer Roel Huisman.
For all it's simplicity, the desk includes a lamp, a vase and a hidden small storage compartment.
The pigments in the polyester resin gives the 'Writing Table' this green pastel tone, which adds a nice softness to it.

Summer Vacation

This last week I have had Emil at home every day and as a result I haven't been working on new posts. Instead we had a lovely time enjoying the fact that he started his vacation a week earlier than we were expecting. We even went to the park - and we normally don't 'do nature' - equipped with blankets, books and hot-dogs. It was sort of a forced early pause on the blog but one that was well worth it. In two days we'll be making our way to Portugal where we'll be visiting my family for 3 weeks. We can't wait... Emil has actually been doing a countdown since June!

So, Life as a Moodboard is officially on summer vacation now. And I'll see you again in mid September, when I come back to what will most likely be the beginning of a very cold autumn in Denmark, with renovated energies and full of inspiration for the new season.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

White and Green for Muuto 2013

This Spring I'm having a serious crush on white and green styling. Neutral tones with a few splashes of green, clean lines, simplicity, and overall a fresh atmosphere. Especially when the green comes mainly from natural plants. And these images, from Muuto's Spring 2013 catalogue, illustrate that with perfection.

My cactuses

I need to make a confession: I can't keep flowers alive at home. And that is something that really saddens me... a Scandinavian home has plants inside, right?! So my mother-in-law just solved my problem (we hope) by giving me 4 little cactuses. They don't need to be watered all the time so hopefully they will survive more than a couple of weeks. And they are so damn cute (for something full of spines).
