Black...White...Grey | Bloomingville's AW2014 catalogue

Honestly, I'm just barely starting to feel like it's Summer, but I really wanted to share with you my favourite images...Yes they are all black, white and grey.
Oh, there's still lots of colour in the rest of the catalogue (and it's worth taking a look), lots of pastels especially, but this time there is also lots and lots of grey... Love it!

the home of...Karine Kong

Today I'm sharing the London home of Karine Kong, from the blog and web-shop Bodie and Fou.
I chose some photos where you can get lots of inspiration on how to decorate and style your home in black and white, mixing vintage and modern styles.

If you you want to know more about some of the furniture, design pieces and art, in this home, you can check out this article on BoligLiv (though it will be written in Danish) or Karine's blog here
Hope you like it!

Friends & Founders | design crush

I just discovered Friends&Founders, a Danish/Swedish design company founded in 2013, and now I have a serious design crush on this lamp.

A beautiful combination of modern and tradition.
And it's like having your own street lamp at home.
Love it!

Indoors garden in an old carpentry

This home in Sweden is a 300 m2 old carpentry that was renovated and is now for sale here.
Simplicity, bright spaces, black and white details, and green plants, are quite common when we are talking about interiors styling in Scandinavia.
But this home takes the idea of an indoors garden to a whole new level.

There are plants everywhere!
I find it fascinating because I really love home plants but, unfortunately, I can't keep them alive for long enough to make it worth having them (except for the occasional bouquet).
Also, notice how the same tones can be found inside the home and outside in the garden.

Chalkboard Birthday Cake

Let's start this week with cake.
How awesome is this chalkboard cake?
You can even write on it with chalk candy!
It would look so damn cute at a vintage themed party.
And... seriously... a black and white cake! What's there not to love?

I found these photos on A subtle Revelry blog, follow the link to see how to make it (doesn't look overly complicated), both the chalkboard cake and the candy chalks.
Produced and photographed by Athena Plichta
under the creative direction of Victoria Hudgins for A Subtle Revelry.

Black and White | Home Shots

A little bit of black and white around the house.
(and my birthday present shoes...life is always better with new shoes!)

Daniella Witte's dining room | WEEK'S FAVOURITE

Interior stylist and photographer Daniella Witte's dining room is my week's favourite image.

I love the black shelves on the left, so graphic and structured compared to the fluidity and slight disarray of the rest of the room.
The brightness and the green plants remind me that spring is close.
And that sofa...so inviting! Perfect for snuggling while having my morning coffee and going through the interior design magazines.

Have a nice weekend everyone.

old charm in white and grey

Not exactly news, but I wanted to share these beautiful photos by  Heidi at fruFly blog.
I would love to see more of this house and shop, and its well worn floors.

tranquil bedroom | SCANDINAVIAN STYLE

In love with the atmosphere of this bedroom.
Simple, bright and light.
With just enough, slightly eccentric, vintage details to give it some personality.
I could sleep here...

ORGANIZED INSPIRATION | Elle decoration's image gallery

Great News!
The Swedish Elle Decoration has created an Image Gallery on their website. The images are organized by categories, by room or a more specific theme, which great when searching for inspiration. Now, like a fellow blogger already noted, they just need to add an option of searching by colour to make it even better.

The site is written in Swedish, of course, but the Image Gallery is very simple, and with a bit of help from Google Translate, you can easily find your way around it. And, something that I appreciate immensely, below all images you can find the name of the photographer and a link to the on-line article. Got to appreciate the little things...
photography: Pia Ulin

As I was exploring the gallery for the first time, choosing the photos to illustrate this article, I found out I'm biased towards the work of photographer Pia Ulin. All my choices were from her, and I didn't know it before hand. They belong to two different homes but both stunning in their monochromatic tones and industrial details

What are you waiting for? Go get inspired...

LIGHTING | ARIA floor

Today I'm sharing the ARIA floor lamp, designed by Nicoletta Binello for Davide Groppi
A modular light cube, in black matte metal, that follows the current tendency for simplicity and geometry in interiors design.

a desaturated apartment | SCANDINAVIAN LIVING

This apartment in Copenhagen belongs to stylist Ingeborg Wolf and her boyfriend Claus Larsen, and it's a wonderful ode to grey and neutral tones without ever being boring. A careful mix of styles (industrial, mid-century, contemporary) and materials (wood, ceramics, iron) come together in a quiet and relaxing monochromatic harmony.

Sure, it may help a little bit that the photos are really desaturated... but I don't care, I love grey!
