Merry Christmas!

An entire afternoon in the kitchen to make the last Christmas biscuits and these Danish Konfekt.
But all is ready now and it's time to just relax and enjoy.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year...
See you in January!

Pure Poetry About Bread | by Ninkipen design studio

Today my inner nerd is completely in love with a bread displayer!

The interior design of this bakery, called Panscape (how perfect is that?), is the work of the japanese studio Ninkipen.

And did you notice the little mouse hole on the wall?
Can't have a bakery without thinking of those tiny fellows...

Christmas Decorations | paper solids

This year, inspired by many wonderful images on Pinterest, I've been doing most of the Christmas decorations myself. I found on Minieco, the templates for several paper solids, with snowflake patterns or the little mountain with snow on top, and decided to give it a try.

I printed the templates on white cardboard, but also 'cleaned' some of the solids and printed them in colourful cardboards (...and by colourful I mean grey and a very faded pink). The 'x-mas pressie' is just a white cube with washi tape around it, to make it look like a wrapped present. I hanged some of them on a bunch of twigs and got myself a - like Emil likes to call it - little freakish Christmas tree. The rest I'm saving for the real Christmas tree, which I'll be getting today... hopefully!

It was very simple to make this, though a bit time consuming, but I really like the result.

Christmas decorations | Oohh collection

Yesterday I saw this product in a shop and thought it was adorable for a Scandinavian Christmas.

These  ornaments belong to a collection called 'Oohh' by the Danish company Lübech Living.
They are made of eco-felt, a material made from recycled plastic bottles and bags, and each envelope comes with 24 pieces inside, in grey, black or white.

(here in Varde I found them at Yebo Design House)

Food Inspiration | Sweet Paul Magazine #15

I'm in love with the whole menu from an article called 'the tasty embrace of winter cooking' from the last issue of Sweet Paul Magazine #15

With the huge storm that hit us yesterday (and it's still going on), these photos of wonderful comfort food are exactly what I was in the mood for. Just reading the recipes is making me look forward for an opportunity to try them.

Last year I made my New Year's Eve dinner inspired by Sweet Paul...
I think this year I'll do it again!

Christmas by New Norm

A taste of Scandinavian Christmas with some behind the scenes photos, decorated by Norm.Architects for Danish magazine Bo Bedre

Subtle and simple, with the green of plants adding a bit of 'life' to the surrounding grey tones.
And some lovely ideas on how to display the Christmas greeneries.

a moodboard for my brother

I recently got the most wonderful news... my brother will be a daddy for the first time!
Of course I'm over the moon with the idea of having a new baby in the family. And of course I already made my brother promise me that, even though I'm so far away,  he'll let me help with the decoration of the nursery. (that's what web cams are for, right?)

And here's a bit of inspiration for the future parents.
Congratulations you two!

December is here...

I'll be busy all day working on my Christmas decorations, but I wanted to give you a sneak peek.
I am trying to keep the Scandinavian look - simple, black and white - for which I've been gathering inspiration on my Christmas board on Pinterest. Now, all I need is the weather to be consistent with the style and cover everything with a white mantle of snow.
