I first discovered this Danish company when I was looking at some of the work from the British architect
John Pawson (It was probably on a blog but I honestly can't remember which). Pawson was one of my first references in minimalistic architecture when I was still at the university, and the wooden floors of his works always fascinated me. So I was very happy to discover the origin of some of them.
Dinesen is responsable for the extremely beautiful, wide and long planks of wood that cover floors all over the world. For this post I picked only a few of the houses located in Scandinavia that you can find on their web-site, but there are many more projects to explore there.
Beautiful flooring; elegance at its best!

Out of all the Wooden Floors, the White Wooden Floor is looking the most magical ;)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous floors. I particularly like the House in Norway. Do you know if there are more images of it anywhere or perhaps have a link to the architect?
ReplyDeleteHello :)
DeleteThere are 2 more pictures of that house on Dinesen's site (you can click the link on the picture) but it doesn't say who the architect is so I honestly don't know.
Yeah, we also want to know the type of wood used.

ReplyDeleteVery nice collection, this dinesen wood floor is looking amazing but i am afraid that it will get dirty pretty easily and you will have to clean it often unlike dark colored floorings.

Dinesen do Dinesen perfectly. I'd like to see more of their oak wooden floors, bleached white. Lye is not so easy to apply to the surface, however various bleaching compounds cans have a similar effect of taking out the warm tones of the wood fibres. The Reclaimed Flooring Company, London.
